First Primer Coats To Sandblasted Body

Here's a few photos of the (expensive) 2-part epoxy primer applied to the underside of the car, interior cockpit, and engine bay. Looks like an entirely different vehicle from just a few days ago!

Sandblasting and A-Arm Shortening

After a few delays, the sandblast guy showed up and shot everything today. Now it's gonna be a day or so of cleaning out sand from all the nooks and crannies, and then a coat of epoxy primer. Woo hoo! Joe also started shortening the rear A-arms. These are the uppers shown in the photo- one shortened, the other original length.

Tubbing the Frog

Well, the worst case scenario played out. In order to get my big, fat 205's under the car, we have to do a little surgery. Specifically, cut out the inner fender well sheet metal and "tub" the rear end. Then we have to shorten the A-arms about 1-inch, and the axles, to get everything to fit correctly. Arhg. This one really is two steps backward. Period. (Okay, yes, I could have decided to go with external body flares, but I **really** like the tubbed look on the bugeye... ergo, a lot of cutting and welding is in the queue.
