More Incremental Progress

Turbo blanket fits snugly. New tie rods (the old ones weren't quite long enough.) Intake manifold bolted on. And Dynamat sound deadening material going on. Step by step, getting closer every week...

Turbo Blanket

To help deal with the potential heat issue that a very tight engine bay and big horsepower turbo engine cause, I purchased a generic T3-size Design Engineering turbo blanket off Amazon. Not cheap, but very highly rated and seems to be very high quality. Hopefully, it fits!

Battery Purchase

I bought an Optima Redtop 75/25 via Amazon. Kinda amazing it was a 1-day delivery direct to my door and the price was the lowest I could find. Sweet. Trial fit into the rear underside of the car looks like it's going to work fine.

Baby--but important--Steps...

Various bits and bobs going back onto the car. More progress on the heat shield, intercooler bolted in, alternator/tensioner/belt re-installed, some dash wiring, surfacing of the exhaust manifold flange, etc., etc...

Reassembly Underway

Here's an aluminum heat shield that wil go between turbocharger/wastegate and the coolant fill line. Also,  the shifter has been re-installed. Trial fitting the combination turnsignal/lights/horn button into the dash. Re-installing brake and clutch lines. Inch-by-inch she's coming back together!

Engine Back In!

The engine and transmission are back and bolted into the car. Some wiring (e.g., the coil packs) underway and the gauges back in the car. Next up is to start installing all the ancillary equipment onto the long block. This is a huge milestone, but there's tons and tons of things yet to do...

Back on Four Round Rubber Things...

The car is now off the rotisserie and back on all four wheels! The steering rack has been re-installed along with the pedal assembly. Next up is probably going to be the engine and transmision!
